Asking OTIS good questions
Be specific about the moment, the signal and what you want from him. He works best with what the page already shows.
In the Suite
- Name the moment and the signal. "Why did BIO_DO drop around D14 06:00?" works better than "what happened?".
- Open the incident first. In Troubleshooting, click the incident band; OTIS then sees the first-mover analysis and the crew notes for that window.
- Tell him what you saw. Add an observation on the chart; OTIS reads crew notes as evidence.
- Ask for a draft. "Draft the handover for this shift" or "summarise this investigation for the manager" gives you a starting point you correct.
- Ask what is missing. "What would you need to confirm this?" makes him name the reading, sample or record.
On the website
- Say what you are trying to do: design, train, operate or plan.
- Ask about how a tool works, what it covers and its limits; that is what the help center holds.
- For price, delivery, a pilot or anything specific to your plant, ask for a person: OTIS passes the conversation on so you don't repeat yourself.
Languages
On the website and the help center, OTIS answers in the language of the page. Inside the Suite, he speaks English or French.
