Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask first.
Do I need an account?
Not to evaluate. The live Suite, the Simulator and the Engineer tools open without an account. Polaris clients sign in to their company's own space.
What does it cost?
The Engineer tools are free during their beta. Suite, Simulator and Polaris pricing depends on the plant and the modules: ask a person. OTIS does not quote prices.
Is the live plant a real plant?
No. It is a generic 300 m³/d membrane bioreactor model running on our server, so you can see real behaviour without a client's data. Upsets are generated on their own.
Does OTIS control the plant?
No. On a real plant OTIS advises and people decide. The simulator's autopilot is a training demonstration on a training plant only.
Can Beedy make my plant compliant?
No tool can. The Suite's reports apply your permit's rules to your data so the arithmetic is right and nothing is missed. Compliance is between your plant, your permit and your regulator.
Which languages?
beedy.ca, the help center, the Simulator, the settling pond designer and Polaris offer nine languages: French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch, Chinese and Japanese. The wastewater plant designer and the Suite are in English and French today; in another language they show English. Your language and theme choice follows you from one Beedy site to the next.
Is my data in Canada?
Polaris is hosted in Canada. The plant tools run in North America today, and Canadian hosting is available for client deployments. See Security and data.
Can you build something custom?
Yes, Beedy builds custom tools with clients. Talk to us.
